Tread-Tec Primer for Floors & Driveways is a premium water-based bonding coat designed to prepare surfaces for long-lasting performance. Engineered to deliver excellent adhesion on previously coated floors, new concrete, and other challenging substrates, this primer prepares the surface for your finish coat to perform at its best. Intended for use as a bonding primer on raw concrete, asphalt, and most previously sealed or coated substrates. Ideal for residential, commercial, and light industrial floor and driveway applications where maximum adhesion is needed.

Theoretical coverage is 250–350 sq. ft. per gallon, depending on surface porosity and texture. Actual coverage will vary due to application method, surface profile, and material losses, and should be considered when estimating job requirements.

Apply one thorough, even coat. Apply with a brush, medium nap roller, pump sprayer, or airless sprayer.

Dries to the touch in 1–2 hours under direct sunlight. Recoat after 6–8 hours of direct sunlight.

New or Unpainted Surfaces:
All surfaces must be clean, dry, and sound. Remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, wax, mildew, and curing compounds. Pressure wash (minimum 2500 PSI) and etch dense concrete as needed. New concrete must cure 60–90 days. Do not apply to damp surfaces, below 50°F (10°C), above 100°F (37°C), or when rain is expected.
Previously Painted Surfaces:
Remove loose or peeling paint. Surfaces must be clean and free of contaminants. Tread-Tec Primer may be applied over most well-bonded coatings, but is not recommended over alkyds, epoxies, polyurethanes, or silicate sealers. Do not acid-etch painted surfaces.
