STA Urethane Acrylic Ultra Enamel

STA Urethane Acrylic Ultra Enamel
S.T.A. means two things: “Super Tough Acrylic” and “Stick to Anything” and every S.T.A. coating is manufactured to meet both standards. S.T.A. Ultra Enamel is a urethane acrylic and delivers unmatched adhesion across a wide variety of surfaces and extreme durability that stands the test of time. It possesses excellent flow and leveling properties that give painters the ability to achieve a smooth, factory-like finish on doors, windows and trim.
-
A finish coat designed for doors, windows, and trim. It delivers a hard, durable, and washable surface. For primed or previously painted wallboard, plaster, masonry, wood and metal.
-
Coverage will vary with surface porosity; when spraying, expect 350–400 sq. ft. per gallon.
-
Apply with a high-quality nylon/polyester brush, 3/16" woven roller, paint pad, or spray equipment. Maintain a wet edge during application, as the product dries quickly. Rinse brushes with warm water during extended use. Two coats are recommended for maximum durability.
Spray Application:
Airless: Use a fine-finish tip (.015"–.019") at 1500–2000 psi.
Conventional/HVLP: No thinning required for airless spray. If needed, thin up to 5–10% (12 oz./355 mL per gallon) with clean water for conventional, HVLP, or brush applications.
-
At 70 F and 50% relative humidity: Touch – 1 Hour , Recoat – 2-4 hours.
Dry times may vary depending on air temperature, wind, and humidity.
-
All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, grease, mildew, rust, loose paint, and other contaminants.
Aluminum: Clean with solvent and hand tools at minimum; for best results, blast clean. Prime the same day.
Galvanized Steel: Solvent clean, then pre-treat with an etching solution. Brush blast if passivated; remove rust and prime same day.
Galvalume: Clean thoroughly, repair damaged primer, and confirm compatibility of shop and field coatings.
Copper: Solvent clean and prime same day.
Zinc: Sand smooth, remove dust, and ensure compounds are dry before priming.
Stainless Steel: Sand or clean to open pores; treat mildew; fill, caulk, and sand smooth before painting.
Previously Painted: Allow 30 days cure (pH ≤10). For earlier coating, cure 7 days and prime with alkali-resistant primer.
