WATERPROOFING A SLOPED METAL ROOF
1. Pressure clean the roof thoroughly.
- Apply the primer of AC64 and water.
- Brush FIB caulk into and/or along all seams and screw heads.
- Apply one (1) coat of Mastic.
- Apply the finish coat of Roof Flat or Roof Gloss Paint.
- Primer: Mix 1 gallon of AC64 with 3 gallons of water and apply to the entire surface. Allow it to dry for approximately 1-2 hours. If rust is apparent, rust must be treated with Ospho and primed with a rust inhibitive primer.
- FIB: Brush FIB over all seams and screw heads.
- Mastic: Roll 1 coat of Mastic to the entire surface (liberally).
- Paint: After 24 hours apply the finish coat of paint – Roof Flat or Roof Gloss.
Coverage:
AC64 - approximately 1000 square feet per gallon.
FIB - dependant upon number/size of seams.
Mastic - approximately 125 square feet per gallon.
Paint - approximately 200 square feet per gallon.
