WATERPROOFING A FLAT TILE ROOF
1. Pressure clean the roof thoroughly.
2. Fill all cracks between the tiles with the Sandmix and MC76.
3. Apply the primer of AC64 and water.
4. Apply two (2) coats of Mastic.
- Apply the finish coat of Roof Flat or Roof Gloss paint.
- Sandmix: Add ¾ gallon of water and ¾ gallon of MC76 to one 50 lb. bag of Acrylux sandmix. Mix thoroughly and then apply it with a squeegee or trowel into all the spaces between the tiles. This mixture can also be used to repair any broken tiles. Allow the sandmix to dry for approximately 48 hours before applying the primer.
- Primer: Mix 1 gallon of AC64 with 3 gallons of water and apply to the entire surface. Allow it to dry for approximately 1-2 hours.
- Mastic: Roll 2 coats of Mastic to the entire surface and allow it to dry 24 hours between coats.
- Paint: After 24 hours apply the finish coat of paint – Roof Flat or Roof Gloss.
Coverage:
Sandmix - approximately 200-250 square feet per bag
MC76 - ¾ gallon per 50 pound bag of Sandmix .
AC64 - approximately 1000 square feet per gallon
Mastic - approximately 125 square feet per gallon
Paint - approximately 200 square feet per gallon
